Welcome to our Victorian home that we call the Crystal Springs Inn. Built in 1890 this home was a stopping point for weary travelers heading to Sacramento and San Francisco. 128 years later the home still carries the same charm and entertains travelers from all over the world. These days they come to the Crystal Springs Inn to rest, relax and use it as a home base for their outdoor activities.
Come and stay with us any time of year and enjoy the relaxing vibe and comfortable rooms. Each guest room is named for a crystal or mineral that identifies the rooms specific energy.
Crystal Springs Inn History
The home was built in 1890 as a summer home for Sophary Ever and then converted into a hotel by the Cothrin's in 1915 to welcome weary travelers on their way to do business in San Francisco and Sacramento.
In 1929 it was sold back into the Ever family to Genevieve Lehman who was the granddaughter of the Evers. Then in 1939 it served as sort of hospital for a Dr. Cherry before it was again turned into a family home in 1948.
Finally in 1988 the home was turned into the Crystal Springs Bed and Breakfast and went through extensive repairs and a complete restoration in 1992 to turn it into the home you can experience today.
In early 2018 Jodi and Jenn decided to relocate from Los Angeles and invest in a piece of history and experience life that so many pursue but never achieve. Today they share their home with those that want to experience this Sierra gem and all the location has to offer.
About the Home
This 1890 Victorian style home has 12-foot ceilings throughout and decorated with an eclectic mix of antique and modern furnishings. It feels like home while you are here. Most enjoy the large country style porch with several rocking chairs that beg to be sat in while reading or sharing stories.
The ground floor has a large kitchen, parlor, cozy entertainment room and a study.
The front yard is large with a pool for the hot summer days and a fire pit for the cool fall and spring evenings. Whether you need a comfortable place to use as base camp for your outdoor activities or just a place to relax and get away for a few days you will love the time you spend at the Crystal Springs Inn rejuvenating your mind, body, and spirit.
Call us if you have special needs not mentioned on this website. We are always willing to accommodate any reasonable needs. There is a cat and dog residing at the home so if you are allergic to animals you may not be comfortable here. The residence also has lots of stairs and is unfortunately not ADA compliant.
